Michele Whitesell Crosby
Michele Crosby has practiced law in the Jones Walker Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group since her admission to the Louisiana State Bar in 1990. Her practice is primarily litigation oriented with Ms. Crosby having assumed principal trial responsibility in civil bench and jury cases in state court and in civil bench cases in federal court on a wide variety of litigation issues including the defense of traditional insurance matters, products liability, personal injury, property damage, cargo loss, medical malpractice, denial of wrongful benefits cases, the defense of cases involving Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 and the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions. She also has experience with physician employment/services contracts and ERISA plan documents. She has represented insurance companies, hospitals, national airlines, aircraft component manufacturers, national and local household goods and freight carriers, manufacturers, power equipment manufacturers, plant and building owners, pipeline companies, energy companies and corporate employers.Ms. Crosby has engaged in all phases of single-plaintiff and complex mass tort litigation, and has defended clients in a full spectrum of litigation matters before judges, juries, the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts' Panel for Multi-District Litigation (“MDL").
